Why Rho Epsilon Iota Chapters Matter
Access starts locally. By supporting the launch and growth of Rho Epsilon Iota (REI) chapters across the country, we create real communities where students can learn, lead, and launch their careers — regardless of major, background, or prior connections.
Chapters are the heartbeat of the REI ecosystem. They’re where students host events, share opportunities, build resumes, and find their footing in real estate.
What It Takes
Starting a chapter isn’t just about having the idea — it’s about overcoming institutional, financial, and logistical barriers. Here’s what student founders are really navigating:
University Recognition
Most schools require extensive paperwork to register a student org — including a constitution, bylaws, proof of membership, and faculty sponsorship. Many also charge startup or annual fees (typically $50–$150) that student leaders must pay out of pocket just to make their chapter official.
Outreach & Visibility
No chapter can grow without visibility. But presence at club fairs, flyers across campus, tabling setups, and branded merch all cost money — and often aren’t covered by school funding. Without the right materials, great ideas struggle to gain traction.
Hosting Events
The first event sets the tone. Whether it’s a casual info session or a guest speaker, students need space reservations, food, print materials, and promotional support. Schools rarely provide these up front, leaving students to fundraise before they even launch.
Leadership Bootcamp
Founders juggle branding, event planning, social media, budgeting, and member recruitment — often without prior leadership experience. They’re expected to build a professional organization from scratch with no roadmap and limited time.
What We Provide
We simplify the process and set chapters up to thrive through three core supports:
Chapter Launch Packages
Everything a student needs to get started — from school registration fee coverage and design templates to a full REI branding kit (logos, sample flyers, tabling banners, etc.).
Activation Microgrants
Small but impactful funding to power recruitment, tabling, and first events. Whether it’s banner printing, pizza, or a speaker honorarium, we help chapters build momentum from day one.
Ongoing Resources
Founders get access to national team advisors, onboarding checklists, event playbooks, and peer support from other chapter leaders — so they’re never building alone.
OUR VISION
We’re building a national network of student-led REI chapters that democratize access to the real estate industry — one university at a time. Every new chapter means dozens more students getting exposure, experience, and support in an industry that has historically left them out.
